South Bengal Tour Packages Details:

The Holy Ganges is not just a river but a mother, a goddess, a tradition, a culture and much more. In Bengal the river is also witness to the rise and fall of empires and towns and ends her journey in the Bay of Bengal. East by Ganges itineraries starts from the city of joy, Kolkata, which once happened to be the second most important city of the British Empire after London. The city still oozes the Raj day charms, but never loses her cerebral identity. And this city is a convenient gateway to more places mingled with heritage - The colonial influences evident in the little towns of Chandernagore, Chinsurah, Serampore and Bandel. - terra cotta temple art at Bishnupur, Nawabi reminiscences at Murshidabad or Sultaniyat carcasses at Maldah, Shantiniketan tour - each are as good as others for a discerning traveller. On the other hand just some 100 kms away from this busy, urban metropolis there remains a world of myth and magic – the pristine mangrove forests of Sunderbans. A world heritage site, Sunderban is the largest mangrove forest of the world, whose claim to fame has been the magnificent Royal Bengal Tigers. Bengal became what it is because of the river and with its 1000 years history and heritage to showcase.
