Shillong, Kaziranga & Guwahati​​​ Tour Package

Morning enjoy breakfast and then set out on an excursion trip to Cherapunjee (60 Kms / 2hrs one way). It is the traditional capital of the Nongkhlaw hima (Khasi tribal chieftainship) known as Sohra or Churra. Visit Dwan Syiem view point, Noh Kalikai falls, Mawsmai caves, Seven Sister falls, Eco Park etc. Later drive back to Shillong.

Full day Local sightseeing in Shillong including The city’s own Ward’s Lake is popular for short garden walks & boating. The Botanical Garden offers plethora of indigenous and exotic plants & rare collection of orchids. Lady Hydari Park is a Japanese style landscaped park endowed with streaches of roses & exquisite flowers. One of the largest Golf courses in Asia is an 18 hole Golf Course is charted amidst a surging valley full of thick pine groves & rhododendron trees. Spend the evening in the splendid arena ! The State Museum is a display of the lifestyle and heritage of the people of Meghalaya (closed on Sunday). Shillong and its surrounding is dotted with splendid waterfalls cascading down deep valleys forming misty sparks as they break the silence of the surroundings. Elephant Falls is a mountain stream gorging down two successive falls set in dells of fern covered rocks. For the Bird’s eye view of Shillong, one can take a stand at Shillong Peak. Morning after breakfast transfer to Kaziranga (325Kms / 07hrs). Kaziranga was declared a National Park in 1974 and UNESCO declared Kaziranga a World Heritage Site in 1985. The park hosts two thirds of the world population of Rhinos.

Early morning go for Elephant ride in the park. (Elephant riding time: 1^st Ride- 5.15-6.15 AM; 2^nd ride: 6.30-7.30 am) Apart from the Rhino, other species found are hog deer, swamp deer, wild buffalo, elephants and if you are lucky, the tiger. It is virtually a paradise for bird watchers, with a variety of migratory and resident birds. It is also home to pelicans, storks and darters as there are a number of water bodies inside the Park.

After breakfast at hotel you can visit tea plantations, rubber plantations. Afternoon enjoy Jeep safari in the Central Range.  Kaziranga is a vast expanse of tall elephant grass, marshland, and dense tropical moist broadleaf forests, crisscrossed by four major rivers, including the Brahmaputra, and the park includes numerous small bodies of water.

Morning enjoy your breakfast and check out for transfer to Guwahati. Situated on the South Bank of river Brahmaputra this is the largest city of Assam, a major riverine port city and one of the fastest growing cities in India. Many ancient Hindu temples are in the city, giving it the name “City of Temples” the most important being Kamakhya Temple. Evening at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

Morning starts the Full day sightseeing in and around this capital city of Assam , covering Kamakhya Temple – Situated on top of the Nilachal Hill, Maa Kamakhya Temple is the most sacred among the tantrik shrines of Shakti worship in the world; Balaji Temple, State Museum, Navagraha Temple – dedicated to the nine planets located on the top of Chitrasal Hill,  Umananda Temple on Bhasmachal –  a Shiva temple located at the Peacock Island –  smallest inhabited riverine island in the world , Sankardeva Kalakhetra – is a cultural institution in the Panjabari area, named after the medieval poet-playwright and reformer Srimanta Sankardev.
