Sourenee Tea Estate is situated in the picturesque Mirik Valley of Darjeeling district in West Bengal, India.The name Sourenee is a combination of two words: “Sour” - a kind of tree that grows in this region having some medicinal value and “Rani” which indicates “Queen of the Valley”.

The Estate covers an area of almost 137 hectares stretching at altitudes ranging between 700m to 1300m. The scenic beauty of the Estate and its surroundings are unparalleled and with an abundance of exotic flora & fauna, this Estate is ideal for Ecotourism, the infrastructure of which is being actively developed by the present management.

Sourenee Tea Estate is more than 100 years old and has over the years yielded quality teas that has made the estate popular among tea aficionados. During one’s stay here at Sourenee one can indulge in a tea tour which starts with a guided walk or drive through the tea garden and observe the art of plucking the “two leaves and a bud” – which are eventually manufactured into the famous Darjeeling Tea Leaf that ends in one’s tea cup. One can take short treks through tea bushes, forest, down to the stream for a picnic lunch. The trek to the stream takes almost 2 hrs. One can relax & unwind amidst the chirping of birds and the sound of a gurgling stream in the backdrop while enjoying a meal at leisure.
