Lepchajagat is a quaint and myriad place located barely 19kms from Darjeeling. Sitting atop an elevation of 6956 ft, the place boasts of a thick foliage of rhododendron, pine and oak trees. The term “Lepchajagat” signifies a hamlet for the Lepcha tribes and rightly so was inhabited by the Lepcha community before being converted into a reserved forest under WBFDC. To find solitude amidst wildlife and to soak in the perfect serene ambience of the hills make your way to Lepchajagat. Taba Koshi is a pristine settlement that is nestled amidst the scenic backdrop of the tea gardens. Regarded as a virgin village Taba Koshi sits high at 3800ft covering the Gopaldhara Tea Estate. Taba Koshi is the perfect break away from the daily grind of city life. One that allows you to enjoy tea garden trails, listening to the gurgling sound of the stream and staring at the never-ending stretch of the plantations and orchards.

Tour Itinerary
Welcome on arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport and transfer to Dawaipani. Check-in into your homestay or resort. After freshen up proceed for local sightseeing. Visit either one of the nearby tea estates, viz. Lamahatta Tea Estate (8.6 kms) or the Takdah Tea Estate (15.2 kms). Enjoy the lush greenery around and be witness to the serene backdrop that offers stunning picture postcard photos. Later stroll around the Dawaipani forest that is thickly wooded and gaze around the wide variety of migratory and Himalayan birds. Further proceed to visit one of the local vegetables and fruit farms in Dawaipani. Later return back to resort / homestay. Overnight at Dawaipani Homestay.
Transfer from Dawaipani Homestay to Lepchajagat (23kms / 1 hr). Check-in into your homestay or resort. After freshen up proceed for local sightseeing at Lepchajagat. Visit Ghum Rock followed by Jorpokhri. Ghum Rock is located at a stone’s throw distance from Lepchajagat of 1.5 kms. Ghum Rock sits atop 7,900 ft and offers pristine views of the Balsan valley beneath. The place is famed for being a sunrise point. Jorpokhri is located barely 5 kms from Lepchajagat and boasts of picturesque views of the Kanchenjunga. The place also has a pond and is famed for spotting rare breed of Himalayan Salamanders. Also visit a local shiva temple in the vicinity. Ghoom Monastery is another noted place that is located at a distance of 10 kms. The monastery follows the Gelukpa sect and is recognized for the towering fifteen feet statue of Lord Buddha. Pashupati Market is 15 kms away from Lepchajagat and lies on the Indo-Nepal border where tourists flung for shopping. For visiting the local market on the Nepalese side of the border one has to hire a local cab. Since Indian tourist vehicles are not permitted inside. Also, if time permits, visit the Mirik Lake. Later return back to resort / homestay. Overnight at Lepchajagat.
Transfer from Lepchajagat to Taba Koshi (19 kms / 1 hr). The term “Taba Koshi” has been derived from local Nepali language where “Tamba” stands for copper while “Koshi” stands for river. Thus, the name “Tamba Koshi” or “Taba Koshi” since the place owes its scenic settings to the mountainous river that flows by the town, the river “Rangbhang”. Check-in into resort / homestay. Proceed for local sightseeing after freshen up. Visit the river “Rangbhang”. The beautiful views amidst the lap of nature transfers you into a surreal world. After spending some time proceed to visit the Vishnu & Shiva Temples in Taba Koshi. Do take time out to visit the Taba Koshi Park that boasts of carved out pathways that allows one to take walk amidst the lush lawns. Taba Koshi boasts of two tea factories, visit the tea factory of Gopal Dhara. Further also visit a local ginger farm. Also try your hands at fishing (subject to availability at local homestay).
Morning after check out transfer to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport. Tour Ends.
