Tour Itinerary
Pick up from New Jalpaiguri Railway Station / Siliguri / Bagdogra Airport and transfer to Manebhanjang (85 kms / 4 hrs – by jeep). Overnight at Trekker’s hut or tent.
The Singalila Range and National Park have long been part of the trekking / access route to Sandakphu. The southern range of the Singalila extends from Tonglu, Kalipokhri, Tumling all the way up to Sandakphu.The journey starts from Manebhanjang which is a small village inhabited by the Buddhists and Sherpas. From here one can get a view of the entire trekking route and the ridgeline that one hikes on to reach the summit. Dense evergreen forests and hillsides covered with wildflowers envelops the place.
The journey to Sandakphu by road sees a steep climb in between through thick rhododendron and magnolia forests but tourists are rewarded with incredible scenic beauty. When arriving at Sandakphu (one of the various interpretations of the word meaning a peak full of poison plants) one will have an amazing view of the world’s highest mountains, (Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse and Makalu – also known as the sleeping Buddha range or the Everest cluster) clad in snow, towering over at a very close distance.

Today you will start your downward trek through the picturesque hillsides to Gurdum. The journey downhill starts today with checking out of Sandakphu and proceeding towards Tumling. Located at an elevation of 9600 ft, Tumling is a small hamlet located in the Ilam district of Nepal. There are ten to fifteen local Nepalese families residing here and there is no restrictions as such for tourists. The tranquillity and the pristine views of the place bowls one over. Located at the heart of Tumling is an open field that offers lovely views of the Kanchenjunga. The far left showcases the Sandakphu peak.

This morning enjoy a short downhill trek to the picture perfect riverside at Srikhola. After relaxing set out for Darjeeling (71Kms / 3.5hrs). Once the summer capital of India, Darjeeling is a land of infinite variety and charm. It will cater you a mix-experience of lively nature & charming Himalayan people. It is the place of Dorje, the mystic thunderbolt of the Lama-Religion. Surrounded by Tea gardens; this little town faces some of the highest peaks of the Himalayas. Take rest and then walk around town to appreciate the new culture you are in. Overnight at Hotel.
Breakfast at the Hotel followed by sightseeing covering Ghoom Monastery; Batasia Loop War Memorial; Padmaja N. Zoological Garden (Closed on Thursday), Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday), Tibetan Refugee Self-help Center (Closed on Sunday), Tenzing & Gombu Rock, drive past Tea Estate & Japanese Peace Pagoda. Walk around the Mall and Local Market (Closed on Thursday). Evening free for shopping & individual activity. Overnight at hotel.
